What crime are they being charged with?
So this is a lot about political gainsmanship here where Cornyn, who's up for reelection, wants to prove his chops to the MAGA base.
And Kash Patel is only too willing to go along.
Yes, they do.
And that's why it's not a crime.
That's why I don't know how the FBI could even be involved.
I mean, it sounds like
not only would the FBI be doing something that's improper, but if they drag back these individuals, I mean, that would, you would think it'd be a form of kidnapping.
I mean, that's why this is uncharted territory for the FBI.
And let's see what really happens.
It's one thing for Kash Patel to approve it.
It's another thing for an FBI agent to grab someone, a legislator who's traveling out of state,
and drag them back with them.
Is that false imprisonment?
When you, when you get dragged back in the FBI's vehicle, I think this opens up a whole new can of worms and it does not require them to show up in court at work.
It's not like they could drag them in handcuffs to show up at the legislative hearing.
So I have no idea where this goes.
Well, this would be a bridge too far for a lot of people because the immigration status is clear here.
They're legal.
They're American citizens.
