That's kind of the the way it goes.

So what was the title again?

Yeah, surface ships.

And you know, a ship because kind of designed, I guess it's kind of like a big company or like a small company, depending on.

I don't know actually what came first.

I think companies maybe have modeled what after the military, but um yeah, so I was a division officer.

So I reported to a department head who reported to the captain and I had a division of, let's say, fifteen sailors and they had a

I was there to support them doing that job and uh and then underway when we were out to sea, I would stand watch on the bridge, uh and you know, had to learn the sort of merchant uh skills to the merchant marine skills to to navigate big ships and uh, you know, run a bridge team.

Um well, certainly if there were mermaids, we would we would definitely be looking for them.

Um yeah, there's like a there's somebody on the chart table, there's somebody literally on the helm.

Um, you've got uh folks that are kind of

manning the like the plan of the day, uh, making announcements.

You have people in the in the back room looking at radars.

You have uh, you know, just kind of a team of people doing different jobs.

And then my job was to kind of be the officer of the deck.

So like to manage that whole thing.

Basically kind of be the captain's replacement when he's not on the or she's not on on the bridge.

So if you hit the rock

If I hit the rocks and I hadn't told the captain that we were in danger of hitting the rocks, that would be really, really bad.
