At age nine, Heydrich landed in a facility for children with developmental disabilities called the Witten Center, even though he wasn't disabled.
This because South Carolina lacked social services to handle such an unruly abandoned child.
He lived at Witten Center until age 16 when he entered the foster care system.
A year later he showed up in Los Angeles, using the name of one of his foster family's dead sons, Leopard Zane, as an alias.
And that's where, as we know, police arrested him.
