I thought that was strange too, because he was older.
But remember, Heydrich claimed his parents died in a plane crash in China.
He had spent time in the US foster care system as a teenager, opening the door to adoption even after he became an adult.
His adoptive mother Janice Schrock was what we might today call
A little woo, a middle-aged woman living in the mountain west, but steeped in pseudo-eastern mysticism.
Schrock poured thousands of dollars into Heydrich's dream, hoping to help him build his temple.
He used that money to open his own martial arts studio.
He told his students they too could unlock these talents.
At a surface level, James Heydrich and Tom Jackson appeared to have nothing in common.

It legitimized him, but KSL was far from the only one to present Heydrich in a flattering light.
Heydrich craved the fame.
