I have to figure out some other option.
There has to be some other way of living life.
This is just not right.
I couldn't accept that for my future.
So that's when I decided to start learning about how to build wealth and find some other alternative to the rat race at that point.
so i started googling just like everyone does how to how to build wealth or how to i think it was mostly how to build wealth not how to retire early i hadn't quite got that idea in my head at that point um how to build wealth because i thought well i need wealth to be able to have more options in life okay so i started looking at that and um
The most common information I was finding is, okay, you've got to read books on wealth.
So I started reading all these different books on wealth and learning about saving and investing and all that.
And I wasn't actually able to find blogs and all that at the time.
This is probably like 2008 or something like that.
um so it was mostly books in the early days blogs came much later for me especially i didn't find them until much later so i was really learning about wealth and the basic principles of investing and compound interest and saving and all the rest of it um and then i went down the path of investing and i was focused on property for most of my journey actually until the later stages where i started learning about and then focusing on shares
But that was the path that I initially took was reading books and learning and saving more aggressively and then starting to buy assets.
Yeah, yeah.
So both I guess is the answer.
Yeah, okay.
So yeah, my pay did increase quite a bit at that second job and it was night work and weekend work and overtime as well.
But I still wasn't earning like six-figure money.
It was more like...
high five figures, I suppose, you know, like 70, 80, $90,000.
Um, but the real secret was keeping my expenses as low as possible.
