So I guess he's decided to step up to the podium himself tonight rather than his spokespeople and make the case.

I don't know whether that will be more effective than, you know, Caroline Leavitt or Marco Rubio or whoever else has been out there trying to make the case up to now.

He's being shown a lot of video clips of things blowing up, et cetera, that he's got a diet of those tactical successes.

Trump technically cannot pull out of NATO without an act of Congress.

And Marco Rubio was one of the people who made that concrete.

And now he's sort of on the other side of the equation.

So what he can't I mean, NATO is an alliance that's based on a promise that if if somebody comes under attack within the alliance, we will be there to defend you.

And the most important promise is the one from the United States.

So Trump can't withdraw formally from the alliance, but he can withdraw that promise, and that sort of undercuts the validity of the entire alliance.

I mean, he's basically done that, right?

If you ask Trump, you know, if somebody tries to nibble away at territory in North Macedonia,

are you really going to send in American troops to defend?

I mean, let's pick a country he doesn't like, I guess.

I mean, you could pick right now, Spain, right?

Spain has been very outspoken with their criticism of this war.

Would Trump actually stand shoulder to shoulder with a country that has not been helpful to him politically if they came under attack?

I mean, that's a real question, but I think

we might have an idea of what the answer is.

So I think as long as Trump is president, the U.S.

will probably not formally withdraw from NATO.
