are expecting that you know if there is not a deal announced soon there is going to be military action of some kind i'm not saying trump sort of trapped himself by setting this uh standard but you know i mean he did say initially we're going to respond if they kill protesters they killed protesters then he said if we don't if we can't get a deal quickly we're gonna um
We're going to strike Iran.
And now his advisers are telling him it doesn't look great in terms of the prospects of getting a deal quickly.
And so, you know, now you're left with the possibility of significant military operation.
Now, I know there are people who think if this was Trump's plan all along, he always wanted to pick this fight with Iran first.
uh could be true i think oftentimes in this administration things sort of evolve more organically than that rather than there being a master plan that they're following uh all the way along i just want i'm going to stand up because i'm tired i've been sitting in front of this camera all day but let me just say um this to you now
You know, what if what if somebody said our president is involved in what we see as illegal activity and sent their version of special forces in to pluck him out of the White House and take him back to their country?
I mean, there's a lot of standards that the US applies to other countries that we don't necessarily apply to ourselves.
It's in the Trump view, I think it's a.
a matter of strength.
You know, we have the ability to do this to the Iranians and they have the ability to to cause problems for us.
Miles mentioned that there could be Americans in harm's way if you're serving at a military base in Iraq or in the Gulf.
You know, you're certainly going to be on high alert if there's war with Iran there.
You know, there could be real consequences, but there's a discrepancy in the capabilities of the U.S.
to hurt Iran and in Iran's ability to hurt the United States.
And Trump is taking advantage of that discrepancy.
It's an interesting question about he said that he destroyed Iran's nuclear program in June.
So why do they need to bomb Iran again?
And that raises the question of objectives as well.
What would the objective of this military operation be?
