But until I sat down to read the whole thing, I don't think I appreciated how much of a system it is.
And they really are not just trying to impose a lot of conservative policies.
They're trying to change the way the government works.
They're trying to change the structure of the government.
They want to give more power to the president.
They want to roll through these independent agencies.
They want to shut down the federal bureaucracy, make it a lot smaller.
And all of this is to get these policies and all these policies are designed to change American society towards this very traditional heteronormative approach to the family.
And I think it's really important for people to see it as this whole system and see it as this vision of society, not simply a list of policies.
You know, I think that it's a couple things.
One is that they did see it as this list of policies.
And I also think that Trump really effectively did distance himself from it, which is a bit of a mystery how he's able to do that.
I mean, there was polling last fall showing that the ideas in Project 2025 were very unpopular, even the Heritage Foundation, which did it.
Their own polling showed that it was very unpopular.
And yet people simply didn't believe that Trump would do these things.
And now here we are, and Trump is doing these things.
I mean, he's going right down the list.
The executive orders come straight from Project 2025, and so does the attack on the bureaucracy.
Yeah, you know, I think you can see some of the seams of the Republican Party where Trump has taken over so many aspects.
But there are some places where, for example, the old school free trade fiscal conservatives still have a little bit of a foothold.
