You've got to get your own new tax file number, but you've got to make sure that all of the outstanding tax returns to the date of death are done.
If someone hasn't done tax for the last three or four years, running businesses or whatever else, that becomes your responsibility, as well as the estate tax returns.
And then ultimately when you finally distribute assets according to the will or laws of intestacy, you then have to account to all of the beneficiaries what you've done because you're the trustee, you're the guardian of other people's assets and money and you've got that obligation to ensure that it's properly accounted for.
Lots and lots of things to do.
Well, I mean, but that's not even sort of making reference to things like, you know, you've got to notify all the authorities, whether it's, you know, Centrelink or utilities or mail redirections and those sorts of things.
