So I would definitely, even though she's saying that there's nothing about the school, I would go in and talk to her teacher um because if there was a switch up and so the fifth classes were
We're mixed.
It may be again that there's somebody now in her class who wasn't in her class who perhaps, you know, she has never gotten on with or who she has a slight uh fear of because of their reputation, perhaps, but they were always in the other class.
Who knows?
So I would go in and talk to the teacher and just see if there's anything that the teacher has yet observed.
I mean, again, we're still early in the season for school.
They're only there a a month or so, so um it may not be that the teacher
Is aware of anything, but I think that's your starting point, seeing as there does seem to be some link between this really significant shift in mood and behaviour and the starting of school.
And so it is probably worth still trying to track back, even if if their daughter isn't, you know, a acknowledging that there's anything particular about school, maybe other people within the school system have noticed something that might help understand or at least explain it.

Oh again, you know, I mean, my heart just goes out to um to families because uh everything that both they and their son are saying are true at the same time.
You know, they can be absolutely, you know, worried about him, you know, thinking far into his future, thinking about educational opportunity leading to perhaps career opportunity and really not wanting him to miss out on something and yet, you know, he's also
Correct, which is that he is now an adult.
Um, and so he gets to make more of his own decisions and that there is very little that his parents can do to force him to do anything.
Um and so I think it just remains for the parents to be encouraging of the school, you know, and encouraging of the opportunity, reminding him of his goals every so often that he does want to go to college, um, helping him keep that focus.
It is always easier.
For young people to invest in their education when their peer group is also invested in their education.
It just, you know, there's that kind of group sense that investing in the work, the time, you know, that there are sometimes when they mightn't gather because you know they're going to be putting in a bit of work for study and so on.
It just makes it easier.
And so if it is the case that his friends are not so focused and therefore not so invested and not spending
