Well, what the government can do is to support people as much as possible.
Obviously we can't cushion people against every price increase.
But if you look at across the board groceries, mortgages, rents, public transport, fuel costs, everything is going up and people need to be protected.
We can't have a situation where the government adds to the problem and that's why these carbon tax increases which are being proposed have to be scrapped.
We can't have a situation where we push the
the price of petrol and diesel well beyond two euro for for diesel, I think that would be unacceptable.
It adds costs for obviously motorists but also for businesses as well, so I think that's unacceptable.
We also need to support people in relation to energy credits.
We'll be proposing in an alternative budget a four hundred euro energy credit and we'll also be calling for
Forever.
Yes, because we asked the government for the last number of years to put in place a process to allow for a targeted approach.
They haven't done it.
So to be able to for any government to get that money to people quickly, the only way is to have a universal payment.
I want to see it targeted, but what I also want and I think this would be fair if on the US E, if the first forty thousand euro was exempt, that would put seven hundred euro back into the pockets of workers.
So what we want is a comprehensive
package to support workers and families who are, as I said, dealing with rising energy costs but also mortgage rent, public transport.
And the last thing the government should be doing is adding to the problem which they have done with hiking up uh prices for public transport and potentially now for petrol and diesel.
So obviously the government have a responsibility.

The point is we called on the government to put in place a mechanism to allow for more targeted measures.
