People by and large looked at this force and said, ah, this is they they restored Arab pride, right?
Did they want to go squander that, murdering Arabs in Syria?
And Muslims in Syria to protect Bashar al-Assad, not necessarily.
I don't think they had any love lost on Bashar al-Assad himself.
But Iran viewed the loss of Syria as existential, as an existential threat to the regime.
So Hezbollah was, as Hassan Asrullah said, you know, they had to, they were where they had to be.
They went where they had to be to protect the interests of the Iranian regime.
Did they realize the costs that they would incur financially and blurly?
blood in terms of the political costs, in terms of where they are now in Arab uh in Arab perception, Arab public perception.
Of course, but they realized that's necessary.
Iran didn't need to tell them, overcome your hesitations and come with us.
They're like, we have these hesitations and we have to do it anyway.
Now, if that existential need doesn't exist though, will Iran push Hezbollah into a situation that will leave it severely degraded or an existential threat?
No.
And you know, Iran just wouldn't do that to Hezbollah.
That does not mean that they couldn't.
They just won't, because Hezbollah to them is an important asset.
And despite having this hierarchical relationship, um, they view they view part part of what they want, right, as part of their vision for regional expansionism is to see Hezbollah continue to grow.
Um, so they're not going to push Hezbollah unnecessarily into situations that would damage it.
Um, I think pressure from Washington ultimately.
