How badly do we want, are we going to continue to want that ceasefire with Iran, to reach a final ceasefire agreement in MOU?
Like what we're negotiating with the Iranians, how badly are we going to want that to happen?
And how badly is Iran going to want a concurrent Lebanon ceasefire?
How much are they willing to risk a resumption of hostilities with the United States, potentially with the United States and Israel, more damage to the regime, more damage to their regional assets?
How much are they willing to play chicken with us?
Who's going to flinch first?
And if Iran doesn't flinch first, uh, then, you know, and then they make that the cost, they make the continuation of the Lebanon ceasefire the cost of them staying at the table with the United States to achieve this thing that we and the United States have demonstrated we want.
This administration wants this MOE with Iran, putting aside whether it's the right thing or the wrong thing, or the, you know, setting aside the contents.
We want this.
And Iran is saying, Do you want this?
We want Lebanon.
So that'll continue pushing the process forward.
And that will lead us to, I think, you know, pressure the Israelis beyond what the facts can demonstrate.
Um, and that might include, you know, uh cursory verification just to kind of tick off the boxes and say, Israel, your needs have been satisfied, get out.
Um, because we need to you know, the adults are talking and we need the the children to quiet down.

Well, I think it depends what you're looking for.
And it seems like this is the recurring theme every time you've asked me about pessimism or optimism.
Look, are we looking for a permanent solution to the problems between the United States and Iran?
If that's what we're looking for, then absolutely you should be pessimistic.
