And I had my character that I was playing, Betts,
the small amount of money he has at an event.
And so to recreate that, we actually found this incredible animal rescue in Western Kansas, which is near where I grew up.
And they had fowl that had been rescued or even trained for, in a sense, for performance.
It's hard to get them to actually perform, but they were like just more maybe docile.
And there was a way in which we could affix
rubber spurs and keep them very safe and shoot them in a way that they weren't agitated, they weren't mentally distressed.
And it's all camera angles and it's all about kicking up dust in the right place.
And it looks violent.

awful and that was the artistry of all that is the coolest part to me what's not cool to me is like let's do this thing and see what we catch like i love jackass don't get me wrong that's its own thing though i have no interest in doing that on set and sometimes they cross the line too like the bear one and then yeah

Jane Mansfield is somebody who I've always really both admired and revered.
And also it's a tragic story and a beautiful story.
I think she's an incredible person with a really wildly complex journey.
And she had this really fascinating relationship with the founder of the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey.
And that's actually a story that I've been shaping into something that I want to tell at some point.
And in my research,
Interestingly, Anton LaVey also kept animals illegally, including big cats.
And he had a big cat at one point that was named Zoltan.
