It's very hard to know in a year or two what they're going to be for wind.

So if we're trying to do, I don't know, a five-year contract, a 10-year contract for a wholesale CFD, trying to forecast what a good strike price is based on a shaping cost that they're like to incur is almost impossible.

So that's a big challenge that has to be resolved.

I know there's a lot of aims to try and do it through an auction process.

Process, which would be good if that can work, but there's a lot of different types of generators, a lot of different efficiencies and ages of generation that will have different aims of what they're trying to achieve.

So how well an auction can work will be interesting.

Ultimately, I perceive this as a zero-sum game to some extent over the length of the contract.

So a generator is expecting to earn a certain amount today.

It's going to be difficult for them to give

up earning much of that.

So yes, they might accept earning a little bit more over the life of the contract to get the certainty for a longer period of time.

But ultimately in terms of the cost over the next 10 years,

it's hard to see how you're gonna get a big saving because a generator would have to give up some money, which as long as it's a voluntary scheme that they're unlikely to do to a large extent, there might be a little bit that's in there.

And then the final area that

particularly worried about what the impact could be because it's very difficult to know is in terms of forward liquidity.

So when we're talking about forward liquidity, we basically mean the ability to buy and sell forward power products up to a few years ahead of today.

We are getting less and less generation that is willing to sell their power forward more than season ahead.

So I mentioned the contract for different scheme that incentivizes

generators to sell at the day ahead stage if they're intermittent and the season ahead stage if they're a baseline generator.

The vast majority of new generation in GB is on that scheme.
