But the problem is we don't talk about it, and the media doesn't talk about it.
That's true.
The television media...
which is still very powerful.
I mean, the biggest followings on TikTok are still the networks, for example.
They don't talk about this.
You know, you could...
have the worst hurricanes and wildfires and droughts ever.
And they won't say this comes from the burning of fossil fuels and we need to transition off them as soon as possible.
So people don't know.
And this makes it a low saliency issue because they don't hear about it.
The Yale research shows that only 12% of Americans see or hear anything about global warming on social media.
And most of what they see comes from the bad guys.
Because our community is what we call climate hushing, not talking about it.
It's a new form of climate denial in effect.
And we don't put resources into communicating this to the public.
We shy away from it.
So guess what happens?
It becomes a low saliency, low importance, you know, not important voting issue for most people.
