Make sure that if people borrow against unrealized capital gains, that they pay their capital gains tax at that point.
And if you have a, there's a lot of loopholes in the tax law.
By the way, my comments on this, everyone's going to hate me.
Like literally everyone's going to hate me over this, but it's the only way.
Anytime that there's a loophole that lets people transfer one asset for another without paying tax on the game, because it's called a tax-free transfer,
You got to cut all that.
If you don't cut all that, then people are compounding value without paying taxes when they're realizing value along the way.
That's what's unfair about the tax code today.
If you invest in a company, a startup, and it goes well, it's not really fair for you to take the money you just made in that startup and not pay your tax and go buy another stock and keep growing your value.
You should have half the money, or 60%, because you should pay your 40% tax rate, then take the 60% that's left over and go buy the next stock.
And that's...
The way to kind of minimize the compounding effect where people that have capital run away in terms of net worth, while the people that don't have capital get left behind and are struggling to get to a point where they can get capital.
We got to fix that tax code problem, too.
The inheritance tax.
So there should be a step up.
meaning like when you die people don't realize this but this is a big part of the problem not a big part but this is another problem which is if you die and you have a large asset base your inheritors get to use the original the value transfers and they get the step up on their basis
So now when they ultimately sell, no one paid the delta between what you paid and what they got it at.
No one paid that tax.
So that's another kind of thing that people hate if we bring it up and say, hey, this should happen.
That's another way to fix another loophole in the tax code that's being created.
