So the asset transfer stuff, the difference between capital and income, the inheritance problem, the step-up problem, these are things that can be fixed in the tax code.

But none of it matters if we don't stop the wasteful spending on housing, education, and health care.

If we don't reform how the federal government plays a role in those markets, causing runaway price escalation that makes all of those things so expensive that no one can afford them anymore, then none of the tax stuff actually matters.

You've got to fix those three things.

And if you don't fix those three things, then they're going to continue to compound up in cost.

And no one's going to be able to afford a house.

Everyone's going to be stuck with unlimited debt.

They're never going to be able to pay it off.

And health care is going to be unaffordable for everyone.

The health care system is going to spiral away.

Those are three very complicated problems.

Education, I think, is probably the easiest, which is if you end the federal student loan program, I think you solve 90% of the problem in education.

You've got to pass laws that cover everything I just said, and you've got to do it before the country ends up on fire.
