I mean, he is not a disciplined and especially disciplined hitter.
His chase rate this year is last year was better.
It's up to 33% this season.
I wonder if he needs that bat speed to age well, too.
And this isn't to say that, oh, Bobby Witt, he's going to fall off a cliff next season.
No, it's not going to be anytime soon.
But with back issues, with knee issues, there are a lot of questions now about Bobby Witt.
And they're not the same questions that you have with, okay, can Michael Garcia repeat what he did in 2025 ever?
It's a very different question than that.
It's a much more subtle question about Witt.
But...
I think you're right.
There is a question of can he be counted on to play 155 games every year at shortstop?
And if he can't, that's okay, but you've got to have a contingency plan, which they did with Garcia.
I mean, to be fair, they have a gold glove third baseman who's a natural shortstop, and it just happens that they're both hurt at the same time.
But these are questions they have to answer moving forward.
Yeah.
And flip side of that is they should because they have Bobby Witt.
They should build as much depth as possible, go as hard as possible so that, again, when they do lose him, if they do lose him, you barely feel it.
