What are they doing?

And they were hammering and Amarai was just MVP, if you like, because they had, Sepp Kurs was their man.

And so there was this, that's what was really interesting about this group of 43 as well.

There was never a rotation.

It was teams with these different objectives taking control of the front.

Yep.

So all those people, the likes of Carapaz, the likes of Suckers, the likes of Lenny Martinez, they were just getting a free ride.

Which was also kind of putting things into balance because often if you've got a breakaway and it's going, you do anticipate they're going to have accumulated fatigue from doing that rotation when they get to the final climb.

But there was that calculation to take into effect that

I mean, everyone was saying, the commentators, and I think they were saying, the limit is three minutes.

And you can only say that because it's Pogacar.

They need to get to the bottom of Alpe d'Huez with three minutes to be almost sure of making it to the finish for the win.

Yeah.

And that looked like it wasn't going to happen.

Because coming over that final climb, it was four minutes still.

And all it was was a descent down.

And then four Ks of flat, then they hit the climb.

But Amarai was doing the hammering on the front, so he was holding it.
