If you're at your best you're in this sort of flow state and everything around you is transient So you don't really notice it so much but there are times when you can't help but notice it and And it's a really really positive experience Yeah
for multiple reasons, simply because that energy is wild, kind of how it just invigorates you.
But then there's also the kind of nostalgia of being a kid and seeing this and dreaming of one day doing it.
having these moments where you realize you're doing it, you're actually doing what you'd seen and it inspired you to one day perhaps be able to do it.
And I think even for the races we saw when we were driving up yesterday, they're barriered off Dutch Corner and the barriers get further and further down the mountain.
And it does, I think even the riders aren't so keen on that in these mountain stages.
Really, yeah.
Yeah, because it does rob you of the magic of the feelings.
It's diminished the feeling a little bit, yeah.
So, I mean, I think it's, and as you say, it's the Tour de France, which really does, and Alpe d'Huez, I think that's a lot of the reasons why many people come here just for that, to experience that once.
Madness.
You'll be, I mean, there are mad people that come here many years in a row.
I'm sure of that.
I think for many, it's a once in a lifetime experience.
I mean, I think yes and no, because that's the norm and that's through your whole career as a pro cyclist.
That is what bike racing is.
It's pretty sparse and it's not often televised.
Your friends and family don't see it.
You're doing it because you love racing.
