This is the distorted peak.
Even for us, it's the Tour de France, and you'll hear every rider that comes to Tour de France and does their first Tour de France, the first stage, they're like, oh, my God, what is this?
This is something completely different.
And so you appreciate it all the more for that.
And I didn't even touch on the fact that all these huge crowds.
I mean, I remember when we spoke about an earlier pod when I'd had my hardest day in the race, stage 10 in 2010, stage 13 or whatever it was.
And I was off the back and I was 40, 45 minutes behind.
And you know, one of the things that I was so self-conscious of was I was holding everyone up because they couldn't close the roads behind me until I'd gone by.
Yes, David.
And I felt really guilty about that.
You know, you start putting all these gremlins in your head.
like i'm ruining all these people's day like they're having to wait for me to come by but the enthusiasm and the kind of the the care that people had and supported even when i they could see and that kept me going as well and i think that's it's at both ends of the race you're getting an experience like no other yeah at the front it's all that energy as i said they're invigorating that kind of like whoa this is i'm doing it but at the back it's you're you're getting willed on
I mean, I think you're right.
I think it's the only race, it was for me, and I think for the majority of races here, it's the only race that you put rationality to the side.
And if you're injured or sick, you'll try and get through it.
No matter the damage it's doing to you.
We've seen plenty of that in this race.
