And then it's up and down.

You've got a descent, which is kind of more of a steady descent.

Then it's up and down, up and down, until they get to the sprint 89Ks.

Now, even Mads Pedersen can't do anything about this one tomorrow.

He's not getting over that Cat 2 and Cat 1.

And then they start the Côte d'Ornans, which starts just after the sprint actually, peaks out at 99 Ks.

That's 5 Ks at 6%, so not so bad.

And then they drop down, then they start the Alpe, which to remind everyone is 13.8 Ks at 8%.

So tomorrow is an absolutely horrific stage.

What are your personal memories of Alpe d'Huez?

No.

Any great moments?

Not really.

I mean, I only stopped the Tour de France, packed the Tour de France once, and that was in 2001.

I got off on the descent of the Col de Madeleine, and so I was in a team car going up Alpe d'Huez, and that was my first experience.

It wasn't a good one.

And it didn't really ever get that much better.

It wasn't a climb I enjoyed.
