I mean, I think...

It's iconic and you get there, but I think for most people, I think the person who's probably had the greatest ever experience on Alpe d'Huez is Tom Pitcock, in the sense that it was his first time racing it, he was leading the race through it, he won the stage.

For the rest of us, kind of the majority, you're going up in a groupetta, you're tired, it's noisy.

But then you do get to points and you're like, oh, you're actually in it.

You've seen it on TV so many times.

You get to Dutch Corner.

And then you start to understand it.

Because the first part is horrible.

This is just like super steep, big road.

And that's not very nice.

And then you've got to switch back to some countdown.

But oddly, it's one of the only climbs, the further you go up, the better it gets.

In a sense, you start to appreciate it.

You start to go, oh, this is, I'm on Alpe d'Huez.

This is iconic.

This is something that I've seen on TV.

This is something I've read about.

I've seen pictures.

And yeah, by the time you get to the top, it's like, okay, I get it.

But as a climb racing up it, it's not one of my favourites.
