kind of one.
That's a prime example in the sense that it started as 32, then went down to 16, and then went down to the eight.
And the eights were the kind of hitters.
And of those eights, there were four that were really good.
Now, they will then still work together for as long as possible.
And we saw that final climb.
They're all knowing what Mathieu van der Poel is going to do.
But once you're in that eight, often there is a kind of alpha rider, the sort of rider that everyone knows has got the authority and the hierarchy to kind of make decisions and urge people on and tell people, let's stick together, let's work.
And people will listen to them because that's where they've got the power to kind of influence that group.
But then once you get to about in that finale stage, it's then every man for himself.
And that's often where we see breaks start to fall to pieces because they stop working with each other.
They stop from going from that alliance, that unity to watching each other and becoming kind of insecure.
And that's where it becomes really tactical.
But I just find Breakaway so fascinating because so much of it is about game theory and the fact that you have to, in order for us to remove, stop this from being a zero sum game where we all lose, we've got to work together.
We've all got to kind of think of this as we're one team.
And it takes special riders to understand when to do that, when to turn it off, when to kind of form alliances and reduce it down again.
So yeah, I mean, it's fun.
I tell you one of the things I wish we see so rarely these days is the riders who are then in that very final phase in the last five Ks and let's say there's three or four of them or even two of them and the race is coming in behind and they're willing to lose.
They're willing to play the zero-sum game at that point.
And you very rarely see it and there's some great champions that pull it off where they just say, I'm not riding anymore.
