So we have a very calamitous time ahead of us.
And I would change and rewrite the expectation that life is easy.
And I wanted to tell a little story around that.
It's my theory that underpins the whole reason why we organize ourselves in empires is that the universe is an entropic place.
For those of you that don't know what entropy is, it's the idea that order goes to disorder.
So if Adam Ola shows you a video clip where the matches and the matchbox jump back into his hand and the matches jump back into the box, we all know time is going backwards.
We know it's going forwards because order goes to chaos.
And so we live in a disordered world that would crush us as biological agents.
So we have to have a strategy to survive in a bubble.
And we survive by social agglomeration and organization.
And we create more anti-entropy as an organization than individuals.
And we live inside that bubble.
But that bubble is constantly pressurizing us.
So when we have a holiday and we stop being productive, all that happens is a bubble has subtly squeezed a bit more on us.
unless you've had some reserves that you can use to hold it up.
So we are on a treadwheel, and a treadwheel is not necessarily subservient to someone higher up in the hierarchy.
It's to keep that bubble pushed away so we can survive within it.
And entropy...
is countered by creativity and productivity, but we do something very strange.
