Often say what you're saying is a load of bollocks.
And I would say, really?
Well, let's bet a bottle of champagne or a case of champagne.
And there were people that literally produced wine merchants of champagne every time by their adamancy that I was wrong and their emotional connection to something that was fundamentally correct.
continually repeating that they wouldn't see and i gently tried to like show them how wrong it was by the string of failures through champagne bottles and other forms of alcohol but even then they never transcended their own limitations because they didn't have what you describe as self-awareness
And they existentialized the world rather than understood how they themselves perceive the world.
And they failed to create a more neutral blank canvas in their internal domain.
So everything was seen through spectacles that were rose colored or yellow tinted or blue tinted.
And therefore you couldn't predict reality.
My work is about seeing reality, not trying to persuade myself how reality should be.
And I've spent 40 years doing that.
And it's taken me to a place
I would never imagine.
And in fact, probably the motivation for that.
I remember my father, I'd come out of the jungle and I was looking at what do I do next?
And I got offered a number of jobs.
And one was at JP Morgan.
I didn't even know what I had been offered.
I didn't understand how amazing it was to be offered a job.
And I remember being in a car with my father who was very pragmatic.
