Uh and you know I've uh I d like I said I come from a a a medical family uh and I've I've worked my entire adult life to be fit and healthy and I've I've I've learned a lot over the year over my years as a full-time athlete through the high performance sports uh system, the Olympics system here in New Zealand.
Man, I picked up some really handy
handy knowledge, you know, and uh got her through it, man.
Like um I became her advocate and her uh, you know, I s I spoke for her, I I listened for her because uh I couldn't I couldn't stop to to empathize with what she was going through because if I if I tried to take on if I stopped and realized how scary it was, uh I wouldn't have
Able to be the person that she needed.
She needed someone to tell her it was all going to be okay because uh, you know, that there's so much fear-mongering online, and you know, you post anything about what you're going through, and people don't want to ask if you're okay or like uh just tell you it's gonna be all right.
They want to tell you how how to get through it, how to how to beat it.
It's like we've got we've got some really good uh ongoing.
On side, and we had to like be very closed-minded about uh the information that came in because uh the rest was just not helpful.

The the one of the biggest things, the the biggest takeaways from Lex's cancer journey was that we knew nothing.
We knew nothing as much as we thought we knew about cancer, everybody's treatment and everybody's cancer.
is uh is different and everyone's treatment plan is tailored specifically to them uh and so um i'm I'm a I'm a strong believer in modern medicine uh as as as well as as well as the natural side of things I believe that uh we live a very artificial life now yeah uh and there are there are so many ways that uh nature can help us but in that time in that moment
Yeah.
uh we needed we needed medical professionals and uh and we we got we had them.
We had an amazing team that that got her through it.
Um, I I didn't consider anything else.
Like I just I I was so focused on uh 'cause we were told that it was a highly it was highly treatable.
I just attach myself to that to that idea and I know I know how strong and how um how resilient and how hard headed Lex is that I knew that uh if we do all the one percenters, we do all the small things and the big things, we get the treatment.
