I started uh first walked through a door, uh the boxing gym, uh ringside in Hamilton when I was fourteen.

What made you go from running to

I was getting I had all these growth pains.

I had like sore knees.

I had severs in my heels.

Um I was growing really fast, but I was like a twig.

So uh I just needed to take some strain off my like off my like lower body.

And then when I took up boxing, uh my dad had always been a a like a boxing enthusiast and his dad uh didn't let him box when he was younger.

It's a violent sport, you know.

And he's a he was a dentist.

So it's like he didn't want to

He didn't want to be fixing his his kids' teeth up, I guess.

But um so when I s started showing an interest in like combat sports, we used to watch the uh the early UFC cards and stuff.

I wanted to become a a mixed martial artist.

That's that's how it started.

Wow.

Yeah.

Um and I we just found a a boxing gym in the phone book and the yellow pages.

And the uh ever since then it's just been just been boxing.
