So what are we doing that we can't seem to keep our own doctors and nurses?
And that makes us then dependent, obviously, on overseas health care workers.
But that's maybe a story for another day.
I mean, it needs to be more affordable for people to be able to have children.
And it's going to get so much bigger.
It needs to get the same attention that climate change gets, actually, because just to put it in concrete terms, a 1.5 fertility rate means 100 people can expect 75 children and 56 grandchildren.
So you're dropping a quarter per generation in terms of your population size without high immigration.
That doesn't solve the problem long term either because birth rates among immigrants and basically all over the world, apart from sub-Saharan Africa, are going below replacement level.
