If you're a manager, a director, even a VP in almost any functional area, from accounting to press to social media, a generalist with Claude or ChatGPT, if they can do your work 80% as good as you can, which I'll be honest is true for most people, you need to find a different skill set and develop it.
Now, if you're one of those people in this specialty who is top 1%, if you're a copywriter, if you're a good copywriter, you are screwed.
If you're 0.1% good on copywriters, like if you're one of the best in the world, and you use AI, you are gonna be unstoppable.
But you have to have a reality check.
Are you actually in the top 1%?
Or do you have a chance to get into the 1%?
And most people are not in the 1%.
But we are very bad at assessing yourself.
I think I remember, I got an MBA, and they ran a study, they asked us to do a survey.
How many of us think that we are in the top 20% of the class?
80% of us said we're in the top 20%.
So we are very bad ourselves at assessing where we are.
I totally agree.
I think what you need to do in this era is you have to create work that actually shows up.
So I think if you're trying to apply for a job, I would take any Fortune 100,
company that you want to work at, I guarantee you, if you spend a month with AI, they are going to be behind you.
You, you do a project for them, not being asked, like unsolicited, you actually do a project for them with AI.
You sent, I would send it over to the team, to their team leader, basically say, Hey, look, if I was working for you, I would get this done for you in a week, or here's what I can make in a week.
Right.
