And I thought that was such a good thing that I learned later in my career too is like,

And the good teams I've been on, it's just like, yeah, as long as we don't beat ourselves, we'll be back the next day doing the same thing.
And I think it starts from the top.
You as a leader, you know, Lester Lackey, you guys not beating the team up because we fucking lost helps everybody be like, so what, we'll get on tomorrow, you know, and that's โ
That's why you win.
You forget as a veteran how much impact, like looking back when all you guys tell these stories, bro.
I used to say that when I addressed the team every spring training.
The one thing I remember from retiring was we would go and I would see guys around and they would never talk about the big hit or the big pitch, right?
We'll talk about those today.
How was that guy?
How is he?
Is he a good teammate?
He affected my career this way.
He bought me a suit.
He took me to dinner.
He told me how to be a big leaguer.
That's the stories people tell.
And I would tell my team that.
That's what your responsibility is really going to be as veterans because everybody's watching and you can impact somebody and let them have a long career.
