WA police just rolled out facial recognition trial sites in WA.
And in the first week of one of their sites in central Perth, where they had this panopticon, this 360-degree set of cameras set up on a tower in the middle of Perth, they scanned 130,000 people's faces.
And what WA police have
when they rolled out and said, Oh no, no, we're only doing this to pick up missing persons and people who have a warrant against them.
Well, I mean
There was no evidence of how many missing persons or potential, you know, people with a warrant they had picked up.
But what I will tell you is 130,000 other people got scanned and ground through and treated like a suspect.
And, you know, my homestead New South Wales in Sydney, the New South Wales Labour government have just pushed through laws through the state parliament, resisted only by the Greens, that give the New South Wales police access to all the facial recognition.
Recognition and cameras for everyone crossing over the harbor, going on the bridge or the tunnel.
That's tens and tens of thousands of faces every day, scanning it, live scanning everyone as you're going across the harbor.
And again, the New South Wales police say, oh, we're only going to use it to find criminals and missing persons.
I mean, bollocks to that.
Everybody is being scanned every time.
Everyone's treated like a suspect.
And that's the security state that I'm dead.

People, you know, when they get into places like Parliament, they suddenly get addicted to power and the idea of executive government and they can control people's lives and direct things.
