It's inevitable that this kind of data matching is going to happen about you.
Just don't get in the way.
This is not inevitable.
These are choices that we're making at the moment about whether or not
We want essential services, the fundamental things about our relationship with the state.
Do we want that mediated by people or do we want it mediated by big multinational foreign AIs who have an overt political agenda?
There is a role for AI.
It should be sovereign, controlled AI in our public sector where the data stays onshore, where control of the data is onshore and where we're not hoping that Palantir isn't feeding it all off offshore.
Like, why would we be running that risk, particularly given that Palantir has literally come out and said...
They're on someone's side.
They're on Donald Trump's side.
They're on the far right MAGA side.
They're on the US's military side.
And it turns out that's not our side.
We are an independent sovereign country.
And why would we be giving the keys to our major data sets, the keys to our security agencies, to somebody who has just come out and said they're not on our side?
I think we're at a moment in time, Chris, and perhaps all of this could have happened quietly behind the scenes even a decade ago.
But now the mask has been ripped off this relationship and people are seeing the bit of the reality of it.
And when people hear about Palantir's role, they are, I think, rightly concerned and they see it as part of a pattern where there's a big chunk of camera who can't seem to distinguish Palantir
between the national interests of the United States and the national interests of Australia.
