My father married someone that had money.
My aunts and uncles and cousins all were upper middle class people, at least, if not wealthy.
And so we were poor in comparison to that.
My mother was a minimum wage earner.
So I remember thinking that my life was hopeless because there was no money for me to go to college.
I didn't have the advantages that all my cousins had.
And woe is me.
And I'm so put upon and this is so terrible.
And that's where I thought I invented the law of attraction.
I remember at age 14 it dawning on me that I don't have to stay in this space, that this was a creation of my mother's, and I could break that cycle and not live her life.
her life over again because she felt like such a victim.
For the rest of her life.
So I broke that cycle in my teens and I went on to become more successful than any of my cousins or my siblings.
So I flipped that.
And I understand that I have certain advantages in life, but I have disadvantages as well.
I focused on what can I do?
What can I do to do better?
And I'm going to do it my way.
So I ended up becoming a very successful corporate person with essentially a tenth grade education.
Because I believed that I could.
