Uh, you know, it's you know, Sujujit Das uh very uh eloquently said yesterday that we're on a trajectory through a financial crisis.
I think there is enough enthusiasm in the market that uh you know it is
Yeah, and and there is v very much a uh a younger Australians uh protest a against uh you know, the the big end of town and and where on earth they get the benefit from this.
That's why you see a lot of money going into gold, going into crypto, uh Bitcoin specifically, um a lot of, you know, uh apps that encourage um, you know, polymarket that encourage gambling and all sorts of things.
Uh so there is a protest against that.
But uh i i it's it's hard to convince younger Australians that it's worth putting money aside.
For something that uh they really can't see as being reality for them ever.
Maynard Keynes and Milton Friedman would be very happy with that.
Um it's idea of countercyclical fiscal and monetary policy, basically, where you're looking to uh feed the pockets of people in need and take the money away when it's not needed.
And you know, this is you're looking for a leakage and inject and an injection into the economy from the you know lear year eleven economics speak.
So yes, it that that absolutely has merit to it.
Um all I would say is
is that, you know, as Michelle Bullock, the Reserve Bank Governor keeps on saying, you know, we have one blunt tool, one blunt instrument, and the amount of comments I get after she says that
You know, to the tune of, well then change it, you know, do something different.
It's as if she's got her hands bet behind her back and she can't do anything about it.
You know, it would it's so incredibly frustrating for people to hear that that this is the one tool, interest rates is the one tool that we we use when I'm sure a little bit of creativity, like Gareth Hutchins says, uh could go a long way.
