And so that was the only sort of pressures that I came under with this challenge.
But also, I never gave myself an out.
So going back slightly, Alana and I, we ended up raising $1.4 million in the end on this charity, this whole thing.
But when we were planning it, Alana and I had a big fundraiser in Scotland.
We raised £70,000 at that fundraiser.
£50,000 of that was a deposit for the Hilton Park Lane in London.
for our welcome back.
It was called the Wheels Down Ball.
It was this huge fundraiser.
Prince Harry was going to come.
A lot of the big A-listers were going to be in that room.
We had to plan that out six months before I'm even on this bike ride.
So six months before I'm even on this bike ride, we're planning the welcome back party.
And Amanda, who runs these events for Fireball, amazing.
She used to say to us during these briefings, and we'd have a committee, and it's like, what is the contingency?
And I never used to answer it.
And Alana would joke, said, well, the contingency is
we go to Dean's funeral.
And actually, when I was successful in the challenge, I came back and I sat down with Amanda and I said to her, I said, look, Amanda, if we factored in a contingency, when things get hard and difficult on that challenge, you will naturally lean towards that option.
