We always say, you know, you don't fail to plan.
You don't plan to fail.
You fail to plan.
And I know unless there is like a big fire happening, you're not gonna like run and deal with it.
But if there's one person who's listening to this podcast and says, you know what, it's been on my to-do list, I'm gonna do it, then I feel like you and I will have done our job for the day.
But we started looking and I started noticing what was going on.
And one of my big aha moments was that 401k that my employer had started for me back when I was 22.
and now I'm 40, so 18 years later, it had barely grown.
Wow.
Right?
It had been put into a stable value fund, which is, it was at the time like a high interest savings account, about 5%.
But as interest rates had come down, it was barely earning any interest.
But the papers just came in the mail.
I filed them in my file cabinet, didn't pay attention.
And I didn't know so much about stock market investing at the time.
But I was like, what's going on with this?
This is really weird that I'm just making a few dollars a year on my money.
It was about $20,000.
So one of the things that I did is I started doing some research.
And this was pre-Google.
