I'm talking about Yahoo Finance and going into groups where you could start doing some information.

I found the Boggleheads forum at that time, and I started really doing a deep dive into things going on.

I ended up taking my 401k out of the stable value fund and putting it all into mid-cap stocks.

Because I learned I'm 40.

I'm not retiring for a very long time, right?

Now I'm 62, by the way.

So that very long time has already gone forward faster than the blink of an eye.

But I realized that stock markets over short periods of time fluctuate, they go up, they go down.

But I'd been in the markets long enough to know and then also to go more deeply into it,

that over long periods of time, 10, 20, 30 years, the stock market goes up on average 10 to 11% a year.

So I just said, you know what?

Mid-cap stocks.

And today that same 401k is worth about $77,000, which is totally consistent with what you would expect it to have grown by over that period of time.

And I did nothing.

I don't work in that company.

I'm not contributing to that 401k.

So the magic of compound interest made my money grow like magic.

Correct.

Okay, so Wall Street is a big term.
