But at the same time, kind of separate from the desire, what I sense there is this deep covetousness of this marriage as a unit, you know, of this life, this house, how they live, how they are together.
I mean, ultimately, she thinks Roy is sort of bland.
Right?
And the final moment when she turns down what might have been the culmination of her long-desired moment...
It's just because she's remembering, oh, well, this guy's kind of bland.
He's like the king greeting the retired Olympian.
He's not actually all that.
Yeah.
Yeah, that she's been idealizing this marriage and this relationship for so long.
And then, you know, nobody else really was.
No one else was surprised.
