But with these strikes, I don't see any evidence that the Iranian people themselves are capable of overthrowing the regime.
Oh, you're absolutely right.
And Khamenei has said himself that that will never happen.
And Iran giving up their nuclear facilities is worse than them losing a war internally.
And so that's been, as an American, the catch-22 that I've been watching and kind of a little bit upset about in a way that
I grew up in the mindset of we don't negotiate with terrorists.
And so entering negotiations to begin with, I do not know what the Trump administration was thinking the outcome would be because they're not going to change their mind.
But when it comes to strikes, Trump has really just been forced into a corner now where if he doesn't strike, it will send a message to the rest of the world, the non-Western world, that they can do whatever they want.
They can throw
in America.
They can kill their citizens and the Western world will not do anything about it.
But again, President Trump's striking is really not going to beget regime change.
It's not going to change the outcome with the nuclear facilities.
They've moved them underground.
And so I hate to say it.
I wish there was a better answer, but there is no good answer to this conflict.
And I think that we need to put a little bit more
Not pressure, but a little bit more spotlight on the Iranian people themselves.
There is no other, as much as I have deep, deep sympathy and I want them to be free, I can't think of any other conflict in the history of the world where the people who have the responsibility have none.
The Iranian people, we've kind of taken them out of the equation here.
