Where's the rollercoaster?
I'm not feeling butterflies.
Like...
What's going on here?
And it's like, no, babe, they're just, they're safe.
They're a good person.
Am I the problem?
And just the, like we were saying, like just the reflection, right?
Like the time to actually try and unpack like...
what did I learn from my earliest caregivers?
Like what, when I think about relationships in the way that even if you're in a heterosexual relationship, like the way that men and women, what roles did I see play out?
What were the stereotypes or the gendered ideas I see, I saw play out?
Like were men stoic and were they, you know, not affectionate and emotional?
And, you know, were they more angry?
Was that like the only emotion that they were,
kind of showing you and teaching you about.
And what about the women in your life?
Like were they, you know, I talk about in the book, like I saw so many women in my life, like take on the role of caregiver and, you know, the person who cooked and cleaned and provided meals every night and did the washing and made the household run and, you know, look after the kids.
And I think it's so important, no matter what kind of upbringing you had, to just take a bit of a breath in it and a sec to be like, all right, what did I learn?
what do I want to take away from that and actually be conscious of with the way that I show up in relationships?
