You know, there's an old saying, why do people rob banks?
Because that's where the money is.
And so...
So I'm not surprised at all that the fraud is increasing because as the volumes of the faster payments increase, the fraud will definitely increase.
So it's expected.
And if you think about all the kinds of frauds, phishing, and faster payments are 24-7.
So there's more opportunity for more time for people to commit fraud than other payment networks out there.
And to some extent, and I don't know how to solve this, and it may not be easily solvable,
Unlike the card networks, in the card networks, you know, when I use the card, I'm sure that if there is a fraud, I don't have to pay for it, right?
The network takes care of it.
Whereas in the new fast payment network, the onus is left on the banks to worry about it.
And so there's some level of hesitation to say, you know what, should I be using it or not?
So fraud is not just a function of losses, but it's also a function of adoption.
So people are worried about fraud and saying, you know what, should I wait for others to do it before I do it?
And that has impacted the adoption.
But I think faster payments are here to stay.
All these things are expected for anything which is often new, although it's not that new now.
But with the advent of Fed now, I think it's real now.
With Fed adopting Fed now, and RTP has been around for six, seven, eight years now,
It's here to stay in all these things about fraud, whether it's significant, whether it's small.
