Appearances
their best version of high-quality baseball was not good enough, right, to top this division.
And even going down this stretch now, the Yankees can go 10-3 to finish the year, and the Blue Jays can have a losing record and still hold on to that lead.
So it is definitely looking better for Toronto.
As far as the Yankees and Red Sox,
This looked like a preview for what the wildcard series could be.
And right now it's set to be at Yankee Stadium if the season ended today.
And it would be a lot like what we saw last night with Garrett Crochet going on the hill and dominating the Yankees, which is something that he's done all year.
So the Yankees don't want to lose, obviously, game one of that wildcard series.
But that was kind of a sneak peek at what we saw yesterday of what could happen in October here.
100%, I think you nailed it.
It would be a close matchup even with Max Fried looking really good recently after he went through some stumbles in the summer.
He's looked like the top form, that ace that the Yankees have needed him to be without Garrett Cole.
So it
would be close but I think I'm still giving the edge to crochet especially because of the experience he had this year and he's filthy I mean adding that edge in that fire in a postseason game is kind of it goes underrated and I think the Yankees need some of that fire some of that spark they get it from position players guys like jazz Chisholm Jose Caballero but really I think the Red Sox can be spunky and that they they just swept the Yankees not long ago
on their own turf, I think goes a long way for making this matchup even closer.
And you said it, I think it's going to go back to the rotation and it's going to go back to how much the Yankees can slug.
We didn't see Aaron Judge do a whole lot of that last October.
He really, really needs to come through alongside, of course, Giancarlo Stanton this postseason.
Yeah, I was really impressed with Garrett Crochet, not just speaking to him, too, at this point in the season, but the numbers that he's been able to put up after signing that extension with the Red Sox.
And now he's going to be in Boston for a long time and picking up right where he left off, kind of being that dominant pitcher that everyone wants.
