This is a topic that's very near and dear to my heart.
Women have traditionally been less likely to invest, and we've seen that from a lot of the research that we've conducted at Robinhood.
If I take a big step back, I think that there are two fundamental barriers that women have always faced.
that are both systemic and cultural.
So the first is the pay gap.
I mean, let's talk about this.
Women are still behind thanks to a lot of the systemic barriers that exist out there.
And while we've made progress, the sad fact is that it still exists.
And I think that fundamentally has a huge impact on people's likelihood to invest and general wealth creation.
And it's something that, like I said, I feel passionately about.
I think it's really important to call out
when we have these conversations, because it's important, right?
It's foundational.
The second more specific to investing and things that we've seen in some of our research are more of these cultural barriers that I think do exist in our society, right?
So on a personal note, I often talk to women friends or when I was in my early 20s, I talked to friends around me who were at the beginning of their career starting to really make money
But most of my women friends had never really talked about money with their family, with their friends.
They hadn't been exposed to it.
It was really the first time that they were kind of facing the fact of their finances.
And it was in pretty stark contrast to their male counterparts.
