And I wrote it as a ghost story and a love story.

I mean, the best way to write a play is to go into the humanity of the individuals kind of caught in the turmoil of the midst.

So what I wanted to do, I mean, the opening sequence is you've got a young Afghan man who's attacked basically on Abbey Street in fear and terror.

He boards a bus, he falls asleep.

The bus arrives in Limerick.

He leaves the bus.

He seeks shelter in an old broken down carriage house along the road.

And that old broken down carriage house is near Castle Matrix, just outside Limerick.

And that is where the Palatines lived 300 years ago.

Great guy.

Austin Bonavizer runs the little museum all about the Palatines and about their life there.

But I had this notion I could see this little curly headed, you know, you know, traumatized young fella, you know, just terrified for his life.

And then I saw in my mind's eye the picture of a woman in kind of peasant dress humming a German hymn.

And coming out and comforting him.

So through his story of contemporary immigration and seeking refuge and the kind of response he's getting in Ireland, I wanted to tell her story.

And so it works as a kind of a ghost story.

And then there's a very important character.

At the centre of it, Molly.

And Molly is a member of the local traveller community because the play is set in and around Rakheel.

That's where the Palatines were planted.
