So they started bombing Iran.
Iran started bombing various US military assets in the Gulf states.
And so the whole thing then took off again.
It hasn't really, because part of the problem is that, you know, in a way, they both have an interest in the ceasefire holding.
And neither of them have, you know, although there's been a lot of military action in the last week or so,
They haven't really gone back to full-scale war, and neither of them really wants to do that.
Now, in the case of the United States, their problem is that as long as the Strait of Hormuz is closed and shipping is stopped from going through, that means that there's not enough oil and gas going through that strait before the war ends.

That obviously means that the oil price is in danger of going up.
It affects the world economy.
That affects the American economy.
In the case of Iran, obviously, you know, they're suffering from these hits, but they really feel that
they can probably afford to take more suffering.
The time is on their side.
And so what they've really been doing is using this moment to assert their control over shipping going through the Strait of Wormwood.
And really the contest you've seen over the last few days is a contest over who controls shipping in the Strait.
And that's when you saw that Donald Trump said, OK, we're going to close the Strait of Hormuz ourselves.
We're going to restore the naval blockade.
But that any ships that go through are going to have to pay 20 percent of the value of their cargo to us, the United States, because that's the price of protection.
Now, he immediately, like 24 hours later, he withdrew that threat because he said the Gulf states had spoken to him.
