There was actually a woman in the UK last year who was speaking to a Jason Moss scammer.

She was with her husband for 50 years and she was recently widowed and he took 500 grand off her life savings.

So when you're in that position and you're very vulnerable and very lonely, it feels like a very credible thing.

I was reading some of the figures, the stats from the guards, and it was saying that since 2020, romance scams have cost more than 7 million in reported losses for Irish people, which is an insane amount of money.
