So what really, of course, Jason Momoa is not on Facebook, randomly adding women, randomly looking for money. But it is part of this new, I suppose it's not a new trend, but it is a trend of... people impersonating celebrities. And of course, it's made more dangerous, more real by the use of AI, where, you know, they can make more realistic looking pictures of Jason Momoa. It's gone on years, but people used to have to just download them at like some opening or something and it would look sketchy, but AI makes it easier. Tell us how you, you know, first got in touch with Jason or how it happened.
Yeah, I just kind of wanted to preface this whole conversation as well by just saying that I think when you talk about this at first, people just think this is ludicrous.

How could this happen to anyone? And a lot of the blame falls on the victim. But for people that aren't tech savvy, like your parents or grandparents that are signing up. social media for the first time it does happen possibly has happened to someone that you know so anyway but I found him on Facebook so there's these Facebook fan pages I was in another Irish kind of Facebook group and it was about kind of making Irish people aware of different scams and this popped up so I said I'll investigate a little bit further so anyway I engaged one of the posts and one of them he was you know calling out for admirers and that he wanted to talk to older women which I probably fall into that bracket now unfortunately
And there was a Telegram link. So I went directly to the Telegram link and the conversation started within seconds.

It's encrypted and it's probably, there's a bit more sketchy stuff going on on it, to be honest, than WhatsApp who probably monitor it a bit better.

this is the thing so you're being groomed from like the offset but I felt like it was also kind of like a slow burner he wanted to get to know me trade pictures and obviously you know he's aware or the fraudster is aware that this scam has been going on for years that people are using Jason Momoa's image so bizarrely he sent me pictures dozens of pictures of people in handcuffs And he said he was actively hunting these people down that were taking his likeness. And so he was, you know, he was actively sabotaging these people that were out to scam women like me.

And he didn't explain why he was, you know, just randomly talking to women at all. Like if he was of a Hollywood star, that type.
He's so down to earth and he just wanted to connect with his fans on this level. And he was, you know, looking for love like anyone else. Yeah. And he was really clear about the fact that he wanted me to treat him like a normal person.
