You know, she was out of the saddle, uh, just trying to squeeze out every last drop of energy she had to to make it to the top.
Royce was a kind of figure of concentration just
clinging on to Volering's wheel at that point.
And um and but it wasn't very far behind that that chasing group of four were with Lungo Borghini and um it was a real surprise to see how close they'd got to those that pair at that point.
Um but then after that it it was interesting because once the team leaders had gone past with their team cars, it really was just drips and drabs of
one or two riders, they had no one around them.
And because the it wasn't packed at the top there, there were points in the mountain where I was walking back up that, you know, there were maybe one or two spectators and it really was very, very quiet as the riders went past your cheer, but really they've they're just like in their own little worlds, just concentrated on getting up to the top o of the climb.
It was just uh yeah, really
Brilliant, brilliant experience.
Yeah, I mean she'd obviously been in that break all that time.
Uh
Court with 18K to go, but she said she'd uh never enjoyed a climb as much in her life and she was riding up with Put Peterser who was doing wheelies and uh they was having a great time.
And uh yeah, they seemed quite relaxed.
I mean uh I mean I I I remember thinking or wondering whether tit riders would miss the time cut and they you know, riders would be kind of all over the place when they were getting across the line, but from what we saw Rose at
Actually, riders seemed quite calm, didn't they?
I saw Robin Clay chatting easily with Josie Nelson, kind of obviously two of the last riders to come across.
And yeah, the atmosphere was really positive.
And I should say, although the crowds weren't um huge at the top, there were still plenty of spectators.
But further down there were you know thousands and thousands of spectators, and we from very far out because we joined the crowd.
