And I grew super close to Connor, Nuge, Darnell, Leon, all those guys, the core group, plenty more, plenty that are gone.

Brett Kulak, Stuart Skinner, those guys, I love all those guys.

They're my brothers.

And so that bond that we formed, it'll never go away.

No matter if I don't see them for a year or 10 years, whatever it is, when I see them again,

We'll be like brothers again.

So that's just the way it is.

And I cherish those bonds and those memories and those relationships because that's what's important.

And honestly, through retirement, the hockey side is one thing, but missing those bonds and those relationships is probably the hardest thing.

Yeah, I mean, I saw a team that was really struggling early, struggling to find their game.

I feel like

That group just tries to come out of the gate in such a different way that they need to play, if that makes sense.

It takes them time to realize, and I found that my last couple of years in Edmonton.

I tried to circle or right the ship sooner just because in the regular season, you start it.

You're trying to have a good start as a team, but you're also trying to have a good start individually.

There's a lot of guys that are trying to get...

points early and there's a lot of thoughts into that kind of stuff and we're just not playing the right way and so I think it takes time for the guys to settle in realize that okay this team is a heavily heavily powered offensive team but that's not how we have to win we have to win by defending because our skill is going to take over eventually but we have to defend and

And that's not to say that the team hasn't gotten away from that in certain stretches, maybe recently against Anaheim for sure, but other games later on in the season.

But I think that it's easier for them as the season goes on to find that game where, okay, we have to defend first, and then our offensive chances are obviously going to come no matter what, whether it's power play or just our skill five-on-five can take over.

So, yeah, I don't know why they struggle early.
